Emergency Resources for People with Animals
By The HALTER Project
To get help for animals in an emergency or disaster, create your own resource list in advance. Keep your list on paper, in your contacts, and in your emergency binder. Be sure to sign up for all local alerts.
CALLING FOR HELP
If animals are inside a mandatory evac area, you’ll need to call emergency services. Be ready with detailed info, including; location, number of animals, species, special needs, loading difficulties, accessibility of the location.
KNOW YOUR LOCAL RESOURCES
The agencies and organizations responsible for animal welfare are your go-to emergency resources.
