This past January, in a culinary star-studded ceremony at the San Francisco Ferry Plaza Building, 114 food and beverage artisans from 30 states were honored as winners of the third annual Good Food Awards.

The Good Food Awards are the brainchild of Seedling Projects, founded by Marin resident Dominic Phillips (co-owner of 123 Bolinas Wine Bar in Fairfax) and Sarah Weiner, who have united their diverse skills to support the sustainable food movement. The awards celebrate food and drink that not only taste good, but also are made with integrity.

Winning products were chosen by an A-list of foodie judges last October, from an astonishing pool of 1,366 entries in the categories of beer, charcuterie, cheese, chocolate, coffee, confections, pickles, preserves and spirits.

Not surprisingly, our area was very well represented among this year’s winners. We congratulate these local artisans and encourage you to seek out their products and see for yourself just how “good” they are!

Beer: Mill Valley Beer Works, Mill Valley; and Bear republic Brewing Co., Healdsburg
Cheese: Bellwether Farms, Sonoma County; Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co., Point Reyes; and Weirauch Farm & Creamery, Petaluma
Coffee: Flying Goat Coffee, Healdsburg
Spirits: Charbay Winery & Distillery, St. Helena
