American Farmland Trust (AFT) launched the conservation agriculture movement in 1980 and since then has protected nearly 7 million acres across the country. Today, AFT is the leading conservation organization dedicated to protecting farmland and ranchland, promoting environmentally sound farming practices, and keeping farmers and ranchers on the land. AFT founded the America’s Farmers Market Celebration, which raises awareness of the role of farmers markets within local food systems.
